As you have probably gleaned from my past posts, I am a bit of a goal-oriented person. I have my list of goals and my checklist of how to reach each one of them. I tend to be rather organized in my approach, maybe a little methodical. The plan is set and the checklist is ready to go, but it's never just one goal I'm striving for.
No, having just one goal would be far too boring. I like juggling things. It keeps me on my toes. It keeps my mind and body sharp. It keeps my life interesting.
Sometimes certain goals steal my focus for a time, but the other ones are always waiting in the wings. Some are big goals. Some are small goals. Some are fun goals. Some are life-changing.
On the journey to reaching each goal, I try to stop and recognize the milestones in my progress. In the last few days, there have been a few milestones.
1. I finally got that half marathon PR I've been working on for the last year! Yay!
2. I filed the final paperwork for my divorce and now I wait for a court date.
3. I hesitantly took measurements of myself this morning and realized, surprisingly, some of them have improved!
The milestones aren't always filled with joy and celebration. Sometimes, they are somber and require reflection, but those are always followed by something happier. I've kind of gotten used to the ups and downs - this roller coaster of a life. Again, it keeps things interesting. It keeps me on my toes. It keeps me looking ahead and wanting more.
My next big goal is getting my Metabolic Precision certification. Each day I inch closer and closer to it. Hopefully, that will be checked off the list within the next 4-6 weeks. That will be one to celebrate!
