I've been up since 2:45am, not that that is anything out of the ordinary for me, but I don't normally fly to New York City with several of my friends!
We also don't have so many adventures in one day, let alone just getting through airport security. Linda may have a new friend with TSA!

Since we got to New York, we've had adventures navigating public transportation and making our way through the expo.

Those of us who were supposed to run the race last year received the 2012 medal when we picked up our race packets.

When we got back from the expo, we relaxed and got ready for our early dinner at Carmine's.
Of course, with the way the day had been going, it would be silly to think something else wasn't waiting around the corner! While Amanda was in the shower and I was getting dressed, unexpectedly our door opened! Thankfully, I had just put the safety latch on. Apparently, they decided to also assign another couple to our room! Everything was sorted out quickly - even before Amanda got out of the shower and knew what had happened. We even got free internet for the inconvenience!
Next up was dinner at Carmine's! Following a subway card mishap and Ryan Hall sighting, we were on our way! Yet again, dinner would not be complete without some event - late appetizers, messed up gluten-free pasta order for Amanda, etc. But, again, it worked in our favor and we got dinner for six for $43!
As we were leaving Carmine's, Amanda and I had to stop off for our traditional pre-race tequila shot.

Then a very tired, exhausted and slightly diva-like group of ladies made their way back to the hotel with a pit stop at Walgreens for necessities.
Once back at the hotel, we had another Ryan Hall sighting! I turned and looked at the ladies, threw my stuff down and said, "watch this!" I walked over with my camera, with Amanda in toe and walked up to Ryan Hall and got our pictures with him!

Now, we are winding down for the evening, thinking about the whirlwind day and getting all of our race gear together. We may keep saying, "we are running the NEW YORK CITY MARATHON!" ever 10 minutes, but that's okay! It's kind of a big deal!! :-)
